Can I use tretinoin 0.1% and hydroquinone 4% cream , mix them and apply on my belly region
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
Tanning is quite common in skin of color and is due to synthesis of new melanin. UV A part of the electromagnetic spectrum is mainly responsible for tanning. Therefore, sun protection is an essential part in management of tanning. I suggest you to either keep the affected skin covered with clothes Or you may use a broad spectrum sunscreen, throughout the day. A broad spectrum sunscreen is one which has both UV B as well as UV A coverage. You may use a skin lightening agent to help fade away tan. Combination of hydroquinone and tretinoin is a good choice. Tretinoin is exfoliating & helps shed existing melanin whereas hydroquinone prevents synthesis of new melanin. You may use this combination just once daily at night. While you are using this combination it is doubly essential to protect treated skin from sun because this skin would be sensitive to sun and may get sun burnt easily.
