Can IPill Be Taken At The Same Time While On Novelon?

Had unprotected intercourse today while being on Novelon for past 6 days... Taking novelon regulary on time and this is the first month of novelon intake. Before that have never took novelon. In this situation is it suitable to take ipill also alongwith daily novelon intake....??? Have already consumed ipill once on 6th of Feb.

Hello,

If you have been taking Novelon regularly on time and without missing any dose then you will not get pregnant. Failure rates with Novelon are less than 1 percent if taken as instructed in the leaflet or by your health care worker. I-pill can only be taken if you have either missed some doses of Novelon or have vomited it out and had unprotected sex.

There is no need to take I pill if you are regularly taking Novelon. I-pill and Novelon will protect you from pregnancy but not from sexually transmitted diseases. So, you are advised to use condom to be on the safer side.
