Can Imipramine And Omeprazole Be Taken Together?

I'm 31 weeks pregnant and have been taking 50mg of Imipramine per day for over 5 years-however I went to my Dr's yesterday as I am suffering from really bad heartburn and re flux and he gave me Omeprazole 20mg. I have just read the leaflet and it makes reference to Imipramine and says it has interaction. Is this safe for me to be taking together?

HELLO AND WELCOME. I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR CONCERN BECAUSE IT IS VALID. OMEPRAZOLE AFFECTS CYP1A2 HEPATIC METABOLISM AND SO HAS SIGNIFICANT INTERACTION WITH IMIPRAMINE. BOTH OMEPRAZOLE AND ESOMEPRAZOLE SHOULDNT BE USED WITH IMIPRAMINE.
INSTEAD U CAN USE PANTOPRAZOLE WHICH HAS NO INTERACTION WITH IMIPRAMINE AND IS MUCH SAFER. FOR DYSPEPSIA I WOULD ALSO ADD SUCRALFATE 5OO MG BD. THANX, HAVE A VERY NICE DAY
