Can Inhaler Be Used After Taking Nyquil For Allergic Reaction To Some Food?
My husband has been dealing with symptoms of an allergic reaction to some food he ate. Symtoms include chest congestion tightness of chest and overall feels crappy. He took some Nyquil (dose for an adult) But now he says he is having shortness of breath. Should he use his inhaler after taking the nyquil?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I went through your husband's history and would like to make suggestions for him as follows: 1. The contents of nyquil are not effective against bronchospasm (that causes chest tightness and breathlessness). 2. So were I treating you, I would suggest him to use inhaler like salbutamol or levosalbutamol for shortness of breath. 3. I would also suggest him to avoid the foods that he may be allergic to. Common foods causing such allergies are milk, peanut, tree nuts, wheat, eggs, fish, shellfish, and soy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parin N. Parmar
