Can Initial HIV Test Reveal The Presence Of Virus?
Hi doctor. I am a male. I had unprotected oral sex about a month ago. I had a pcr hiv test done about 8 days after that. The result came back hiv negative. I had another pcr hiv test done about 5 days ago. The result was also hiv negative. Do i need to do another test or does these 2 tests confirm that i am hiv negative?
You had indulged in a a low risk activity. But low risk does not mean no risk.At 30 days your tests are negative ,that's fine but as a protocol you have to go for another test at 90 days for confirmation of HIV.

Can Initial HIV Test Reveal The Presence Of Virus?
Hii I admire you for positive outlook. Initial test has no reliability. Usually it came negative. first test that can show infection is p24 antigen study. It usually show after 21 days. PCR takes time to show virus . so go for p24 antigen. Please avoid such risk. Use protection if needed and be safe. Thank you.
