Hi doctor, I was bit by some sort of insect yesterday, I felt it doing its biting and I was able to swat it away before it finished its job i m guessing. Since yesterday I have had a mark on my skin, it looks like a small red dot (probably where the skin was punctured) surrounded by what looks like a purplish bruise which is about 1 cm in diameter. I want to know if I should do anything besides keeping an eye on it and see if it goes away
Hi, if you want it to go away faster, you should apply 2% Hydrocortisone cream day and night for 7 to 10 days. If itchy, take one or two tablets of Benadryl every 12 hours. Be careful if you drive because it can cause drowsiness. I hope it helps.
