Can Inter Menstrual Vaginal Spotting Be A Sign Of Pregnancy?
I had unprotected sex a week ago, and he ejaculated in me. I had sexual intercourse every day until my period came on Wednesday but only lasted until Friday evening/Saturday morning. This irregular for me, I did have clotting, and I am on Kariva birth control pills. I experienced spotting today after sex. Could any of these be a sign of pregnancy?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
If you have taken the contraceptive pills every day at a prescribed time without a break. You need not worry, pregnancy would be prevented.
In such a case change in the menstrual pattern could be a side-effect of the pill itself & the postmenstrual bleeding after sex can be remnant of previous menses.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
