I have been having contractions now for 3 weeks and have been dilated 3cm for 3 weeks and last week at my ob appointment i was 80% effaced and at 0 station. I am currently 37 weeks can I asked to be induced. I am 4' 11'' and I have only gained 14 pounds. I feel intense pressure on my pelvis
Hi, You seem to be in pre-labor. The reason for the early effacement of the pelvis could be the low lying presenting part of the fetus and this could also be the reason for the pressure that you feel in the pelvis. The fact that you are 4'11" means that you may have a pelvis small for the baby and need to have a thorough pelvic assessment before any decision can be taken on the prospects of a vaginal birth. If there is no disproportion, you may ask for induction with proper monitoring to intervene at the earliest if necessary. Hope this helps.
hi, thanks for writing.. There is no problem in delivering at this point.. But I feel there is no need for induction.. It would be better to go in for spontaneous labour..Get a scan done to see for fetal weight.. it would be better to get admitted in the hospital as you likely to go in for labour son.. After 1 week labour can be induced if you dont deliver by then.. hope I have answered your query.. good day..
