I am 40 weeks pregnant and I am not able to see my OB until I am 41 weeks pregnant. I do not feel comfortable with this, and I have already been to the labor and delivery at the hospital I am set to deliver my baby at? If I were to go again, can I elect to have my labor induced. I just had a sonogram at 38 weeks and the baby's EDD was the same in the scan and she was estimated at 7.5 ounces.
On 41st week when you see your OB, you could ask for another ultra sound. Beware of foetal distress. You could wait out for about another week before getting labor induced.Labour induction depends upon opening of cervics if it does not dilate induction is not indicated. your doctor will be at best position to decide whether to wait more, induce the labour depending on OS condition or go for operative procedure/assisted labour.
Hope this was helpful.
