Can Lack Of Water Cause Fever, Vomiting And Change In Colour Of Urine?

Hi dr. I recently 3 days ago , felt sick and vomited about three times. I developed a temp of 100.3 and noticed the color of my urine was orange. Could this be due to lack of water. I have not eaten any food that may cause this problem. I have no pain. I do have a cough and not have had aBM for 3 days. My email is YYYY@YYYY Thank you

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have high coloured urine and high grade fever after vomiting.

This is due to severe dehydration due to vomiting and less consumption of water resulting into your urine being highly concentrated.

The high colour urine is due to concentrated urine and will become normal once you drink more water .

Ensure to drink more water. To keep your urine dilute This will help lower down fever too.
