Can Light Pink Line Seen In HPT Means Positive For Pregnancy?

Hello Doctor, I have missed my Periods and it is been 23 days, i was testing with different Test kits and all shows -ve results. today morning when i tested using Velocit Kit, one line is dark and other is light pink. am i expecting? Thanks and Regards, Khushi

Hello and welcome,

If the result is faint line then there are 3 possible reasons:
1. there is a pregnancy and it has been conceived later than what is predicted from the period date. Hence the line is light pink. If retested after a few days it may become darker.
2. there is a pregnancy but the baby is not alive [ missed abortion]. Need to do an ultrasound or a blood test to rule this out.
3. kit is defective and this is false positive.

As of now, I suggest that either you get a blood test or repeat the urine test after 3-4 days and then check the result. If the blood test is positive or the repeat urine test shows a dark line, it indicates pregnancy.
