Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have what an ER physician called a Lipoma on the back of my upper right leg/lower right glute. i also have pain in the right leg...specifically the right knee. Also, my lower back seems to hurt when i sit on the area where this Lipoma is located. I m curious as to whether the Lipoma could be causing the pain? And also, what s the best way to go about having it removed
I have studied your case. Radicular pain is less likely due to lipoma. Unless lipoma is very large does not require surgery.
Due to compression of this nerve root there can be pain in leg . I will advise you to do MRI spine For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started. Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help. Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief. I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care
