Can Long Term Usage Of Postinor Affects The Fertility Of A Person?
Good morning Dr. Pleasee iv been taking postinor 2 tablet twice a month for over one year now to avoid getting pregnant. Please can this affect my fertility or make it difficult for me to get pregnant when I want to. Also is there any adverse effect of the chronic use of this drug? Thank you Dr.
Using Postinor 2 or any kind of emergency contraceptive pills repeatedly (twice in a month or long term) doesn't affect women's fertility or future pregnancy. However, the usual side effects of the pills such as irregular cycle, breast changes, upset stomach, mood swings do exist in few cases during the time of intake. But most of the women get their cycle within 2-3 months after stopping the pills.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
