Can Marijuana Be The Cause For Back Out For Some Time?

I have gotten many e.c.t treatments done in the past year and i used to smoke weed on a weekly basis the last time i did smoke i went into a daze and it took me about 15mins to get out of it and my friends thought i had a seizure but they said i wasnt shaking or anything. I dont know if it is the e.c.t treatments or just me smoking bad marijuana.

Hello,

I understand your concern. First of all, I would like to mention that some of marijuana's side effects, such as anxiety and depression are exactly some of the conditions that E.C.T aims to treat, so by smoking cannabis while also undergoing ECT treatment kind of defies the purpose.
On the other hand, another side effect of smoking weed is memory impairment, which, guess what, is also a well known side effect of ECT. So, you would be getting a double memory loss effect by combining both.
Black outs are not related to ECT treatment, and as far as marijuana goes, it being an unregulated substance, hence very-little known when it comes to long term effects and interactions, it is hard to tell. I would, however suggest you talk to your doctor about this and undergo a few tests to find out the cause for the black outs.
In the mean time, I strongly recommend you give up smoking, so as to prevent any further damage or interaction with your current therapy.

Wishing you good health and all the best.
