Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Medication For High Blood Pressure And A-fib Cause Low Sperm Volume?
For high blood pressure and an A-Fib condition I take Enalipril and Sotalol. Due to low testosterone I inject .75ml every 14 days. For the last 60-90 days I have notice that during intercourse sperm volume is very low if not non-existent . Can this condition be a side effect of either or both of the blood pressure and a-fib medicines
HI I really appreciate your concern as you said here that you are taking anti hypertensive medicine and you are suspicious that because of this medicine and the cardiac condition that you have may be the cause of your low sperm or low volume of semen but this is not true, if you are above 50 year then this is likely and nothing to take with the medicine that you are taking or the medical condition that you have, hope this information helps you, have nice day.
