Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
Your main concern is Acne and Post Inflammatory
Hyperpigmentation (PIH).
This cream is a prescription product. You should never use it on a friend's advice.
Though this cream has a potent demelanizing ingredients like
hydroquinone and tretinoin but it should always be used cautiously under the supervision of a
dermatologist as a spot treatment for PIH only for a short period because these ingredients can also cause irritation and redness; this cream also contains a potent steroid, Mometasone Furoate which if used regularly can lead to more acne.
I would suggest that you visit a dermatologist. Your dermatologist will assess the severity of your acne and PIH and advice accordingly.
If you were my patient I would have asked you to use topical anibacterials like Clindamycin Or
Benzoyl peroxide gel for active acne.
Oral antibiotics like Doxycycline Or Azithromycin may also be started if your acne is mainly inflammatory.
For Post acne marks I usually ask my patients to apply Kojic acid twice daily as a spot treatment.
Chemical peeling is also an option for both acne as well as PIH. A session is usually performed once every 2 weeks at the doctor's office.
