Can Menopause Cause Sore Breasts?

Hi, my name is Paula and I am 37 years old and I had a question regarding menopause. Can early menopause stages cause your breasts to be sore? I have been told that I am still a little bit young to start into menopause, but my menstrual cycles have not been regular, and I just haven t felt like myself. I haven t thought that this might be related to pregnancy because I had a tubal ligation 4 years ago. Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello Paula and welcome.

Yes, not just pre-menopause but any condition or influencing factor that can cause a hormonal imbalance can easily cause the breasts to be tender and sore.

Pre-menopausal symptoms can easily cause such a presentation and there should be no cause for concern with such a presentation. But if at all you cannot tolerate the symptoms gradually appearing, then you can consider visitng your doctor who will help you deal with menopause.

Best wishes.
