Hi, my Dr. took me off tricor about 5 weeks ago. I explained i was having alot of stomach problems and i thought it may be due to tricor. I am also diabetic so i was taking metformin, and lipitor. My Dr. insists the metformin is the problem. She switched me to actos.
Hello, METFORMIN is known to cause gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, bloating ,pain abdomen etc. Your doctor is right in stopping it. Once you are out of metformin, your symptoms should abate,if they are being caused by it. Persistence of symptoms, even after stopping metformin would mean some other reason and a fresh look by your doctor. Thanks
