Can Mowing Grass In Garden Cause Allergy?

Hi. Every time my husband mows the grass, when he gets to a certain spot in the yard he starts coughing really bad and has to stop to get a drink. Then he has to put something over his mouth and nose to finish so he doesn't inhale whatever makes him cough again. What would cause this?

Hello,
Welcome to HCM,
This suggests that your husband is allergic to grass. While mowing of grass small particles of grass by droplet nuclei it reaches the respiratory tract and induces very bad cough.
Your husband should avoid this otherwise repeated irritation can land up in asthma.
Thank you.
