well one of my friends. she has delivered a baby which is normal, 2nd time the baby had problem so abortion took place now she is 40 years can she have another baby

Hi, Thanks for writing..
This pregnancy would require close monitoring as the maternal age increases the chance of chromosomal anomaly in the baby is high.. A chromosomal screening at 13 weeks and a detailed anomaly scan at 20 weeks is advised.. Also if she is diabetic and hypertensive, close monitoring and change in drugs safe for the fetus has to started.. But there is no rule that she shouldnot become pregnant.. Just monitoring is required.. Hope I have answered your query.. good day
