good eve and thank sfor being there. 53 yrs old female diagnosed with twisted bowel. also just had a small polyp removed. my questions: can my twisted bowel untwist itself? if so, how would i know it? also, i have had difficulty with bowel movement basically all my life, and i read gut motility is one of the causes and also symptoms of twisted bowel. how would i know if my condition requires immediate attention? i mean, i am so used to some of the symptoms....Thanks for your time!
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of constipation or difficulty with bowel movements for a long time. Twisting of the bowel is an emergency and if not untwisted on its own, needs urgent surgery, otherwise it can get perforated and further complications of peritonitis and death. You can not untwist your bowel on your own. To know the diagnosis I would advise you the following: Enetroclysis to know if there is any obstructing pathology. Get operated if found.
