Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was told to eat more at my last appointment... I am 37, 5'4 and weigh about 111 pounds. To me, this seems okay... What should I weigh. I do not want to be too skinny, but I also have a small bone structure. My Dr. is afraid that my weightloss is due to MS or some neurological disorder. Is this possible?
dear, Welcome to HCM neurological condition can lead to weight loss secondary to wasting of body muscles due to impaired muscle movements. A regular movement and exercise of muscle is suggested, however in certain neurological condition movement can actually worsen the preexisting disorder therefore any modification in activity should be only on advice of treating doctor. Regular treatment of underlying neurological disorder plus required modification in daily activities can lead to minimise impairment in neurological conditions.
welcome for further queries. Regards.
