Can Nexium And Advil Be Taken Together For Headache?

Hi, I need a urgent help. I was taking advil tablets for migraine problem recently. From 2 days, I am taking nexium tablets. But, now I am facing severe headache and looks like, I need to take advil. I need to know, Can I take both the drug (Nexium & advil) at the same time? Or, there is some side effect, if I take both the drug together. I am 30 year old working woman. THanks.

I read your question and I understand your concern regarding drug interaction.

In your case though of combining Advil (Ibuprofen) and Nexium (Esomeprazole) there are no harmful interactions between the drugs. However it would have been useful to know why you are taking Nexium. It is usually given for stomach issues and you should keep in mind that Advil can exacerbate gastric ulcer and predispose to bleeding. Nexium does offer some protection on that regard, but still if you have an ulcer you should be careful and limit Advil use to as little as possible.

I hope to have been of help.
