Can Non-penetrative Sex Harm The Fetus In Early Pregnancy?

Hi, I d like to know if it is safe for my parter to finger me and have sex at 7 weeks pregnant, he is quite rough with his fingers, and I often have slight spotting of blood afterwards. could this damage my baby or end in a miscarriage? Very worried. Thank you.

Hello and welcome,

If there is bleeding then it is best to avoid sex during the first three months.
Generally we advice absteinance for the first three months as rough acts may lead to abortions and also there is always a slight chance of infection.

In your case, please check if there was any injury that caused the bleeding or it came from deep inside the vagina. If it came from superficial injury, has stopped now and there is no pain, there is no need to worry. Just avoid it henceforth. If there is continuous bleeding then you need to see your doctor.
All my good wishes are with you.

Take care.

Hope this satisfies your query.
