Can Omancortil Suspension Cause Any Problem During Pregnancy?

I am a pregnant about 5 to 6 weeks. doctor suggested one syrup. in the medical shop instead of the suggested syrup he has given OMNACORTIL SUSPENSION. Mistakenly i didn t checked it and I started using it from 4 days onwards. Today I observed the same right now. No doctor is available in the hospital. Can you pls let me know about the implications for this medicine which I used now. Pls help me now.

Hello,

I want to first clarify that Omnacortil contains Prednisolone which is a cortico-steroid. This is never recommended such early in pregnancy unless there are specific indications. If you are consuming this medicine by mistake I would advise you to discontinue it immediately and consult your OBGYN for follow.

I would also like to mention that since you have taken this medicine for a short duration of 4 days, it is safe to stop the medicine immediately and you should not be facing any withdrawal effects. I hope this answers your query and finds you in good health.
