Recently I went to the doctor to have my throat checked due to possible strep throat and the doctor asked me if I had had my tonsils removed. I told him no not that I can remember and he told me that there was scarring at the back of my throat. I went home and called my parents and ask them if I had ever had my tonsils removed and they told me that I hadn t. What happened to my tonsils? Is it possible to be born without them? What would explain the scaring? Was it ever common practice to remove tonsils without parental consent?
Hi, thank you for posting your query on health care magic.
Looking at your description, there is a possibility of spontaneous tonsillar atrophy/involution in adults (As we grow,in few people, tonsil may reduce in size on its own).It is not a problem.
So don't worry. It is not possible to surgically removed the tonsil without consent.
Hope this answers your question.Take care.
