Can One Run After A Hernia Surgery?

I had a hernia repair April 7, 2017. Now, I have pain when I run, cough, and nearly any movement that requires the use of my stomach/abdominal muscles. However, I’m in China for another two months before returning to the US. Can I do a self exam & could I cause potentially more damage if I continue to run?

Hi,

When have you undergone hernia surgery? When you're symptoms appear again? It is better to take rest up to 3-6 months after surgery why because the abdominal muscles take time to recover after incision.

If Symptoms not improved please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
