I have been diagnosed with 3/4 stage ovarian cancer. A test showed that there is a chalky looking substance in the spine area that could possibly be cancer. My Dr. said that I look to healthy to have it in the spine as you don t live long with spinal cancer. I am taking chemo every three weeks for the ovarian cancer. Can ovarian cancer spread to the spinal area?
Distant metastases have been reported to the liver, brain, and other sites. As reported prior, spinal cord metastasis from ovarian cancer portends a poor prognosis with a survival of 10 months to 3 years. There are several factors that may play a role in the varied prognoses of such patients.
