i went to the OBGYN last week due to a pin point pain in the lower left side and was told one of my ovaries is swollen. could be a cyst. going for a pelvic sono transvaginal. today i am having twitching in my upper abdomen. could these be related? do i have anything to worry about?
Abdominal twitching can occur due to muscle strain, dehydration or electrolyte depletion.
Since you have mentioned history of ovarian cyst, it is very essential to rule any rupture or torsion of the cyst which can also cause abdominal pain or twitching.
I would suggest you to take a pelvic ultrasound to rule out ovarian abnormalities.Other cause of abdominal pain such as gastritis and appendicitis, renal stones, diverticulitis should also be ruled out.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
