Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I play competitive softball, and I have this pain on the top of my forearm whenever I bend my wrist. I also hear a lot of cracking. I thought this pain would go away, but it has been a while. I have done a little research and I might think it is tendinitis. I have had tendinitis in my Achilles before. I especially feel pain when I bend my wrist down at a 90 degree angle.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query. From the complaints you have described it could be repetitive stress injury to elbow and wrist and it is a form of tendinitis. I would advice you to consult local orthopedic surgeon who might start on anti-inflammatory medications, topical creams and physiotherapy. Strengthening and physical training under the guidance of a proficient physiotherapist is the mainstay of treatment. All these together and with some activity modification may soothen the pain. Any injury to the tendon needs to be ruled out after investigations like MRI. With adequate treatment, it usually takes 8-10 weeks for the pain to subside completely. I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
