Hi, I have concerns I may be pregnant now I have been an addict in recovery for alittle while now and just recently relapsed and was just wondering if using like prescription pain killers if I took a early home pregnanct test if they would or could alter the results just has been 3 weeks since my period start date so have alittle bit of concerns but like I said I took 2 test a week a part both 1st thing in the am but both negative. So just want curious. Thank you for your time and patience and help
Painkiller doesn't alter HPT result. Early pregnancy test may give negative result. You should undergo HPT soon after missed period and repeat the test after 1 week for confirmation. USG scan and blood test for beta-hCG are more reliable tests to rule out pregnancy. Good luck.
