Can Patchy, Underdeveloped Beard Be Indicative Of Some Throat Condition?
i am 19 years old, and i have been a chain smoker for the last 5 years of my life. i have recently realised that my beard is patchy, and there are loads of places under my chin, where the beard is under developed. i am wondering if this is a sign of a throat related disease of some sort.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It is not a sign of throat infection it may be due to fungal infection or alopecia areata an immunological condition in which hair follicles damage etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
