People with PCOS can have higher levels of androgen hormones that causes irregular menstruation. It causes hormonal imbalance. Some experience scanty periods, some unusual periods, bleeding between periods or prolonged periods. Many small sacs of fluid develop on the ovaries that fail to regularly release eggs. Menstrual problems occur if the cyst produces sex hormones that cause the endometrial lining of the womb to grow.
Get treated at the earliest by a gynecologist. In the meantime, switch to healthy lifestyle, a balanced diet, a healthy weight, and having an active lifestyle. Avoid harmful habits such as smoking and excessive drinking, recreational drugs or addictions. Avoid anxiety and stress (emotional and physical).
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
