Can Petroleum Jelly Be Used For Cracked Lips On An Infant?
Hi Doc can I use petroleum Jelly for crack lips for my 2 weeks old baby? He have g6pd during his newborn screening. We will get the result of his confirmatory test this coming friday. I am worried if he can use petroleum jelly for his crack lips or what to put in his lips to get rid of crack lips. Thank you

Yes, petroleum jelly is fine or you may purchase an over the counter chapped lip preparation to rub on his lips. However, babies often have cracked lips in the first few weeks and it usually does not bother them and only needs moisturizing if they bleed.
