Can Poland Syndrome Occur Without Chest Cavity Or Pectoral Muscle Problems?
I think my daughter may have Polands syndrome. Insurance denied surgery for expander to be placed in grossly undeveloped left breast and then an implant, and a small implant in the deformed right breast. Can you have Polands syndrome without chest cavity or pectoral muscle problems? Her left pectoral is only about 4mm smaller than her right. She was a low birth weight baby who suffered from lack of blood flow through the umbilical cord. I am trying to find a poland syndrome specialist in the NY/Tri state area. She has always had low tone on her left side and was hypotonic as a baby.
As you explain the history it is hard forme to say if she has Poland syndrome or not without her close examination. But if the doctor says no then no doubts.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
