Can Pre-menstrual Cramps During Late Pregnancy Be Related To Labor?
Im 38 weeks and 3 days pregnant with my second child. I have been having menstrual like cramps on and off for two days and also a mucus like discharge, (kindof stringy). I am 2.5 cm dilated and 80% effaced. Could the cramps and discharge mean labour is close??

Hello dear,I understand your concern.In my opinion 80% effacement and 2.5cm along with pain abdomen and mucus discharge suggest that the labour process has started.As this is the second pregnancy labour progresses faster than in first pregnancy.So you might need an hospital admission.Check for any leaking fluid also which means the membranes have ruptured.All the best.Have a happy delivery.
