Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Took 30 mg prednisone for facial rash last night before bed, plan is to reduce 5 mg per day after day 2. Had some urinary incontinence last night which has never happened before ( either on previous courses of predniSone or for any other reason). Is it Likely to be from the meds? This is a common side effect when my dg takes more than 20 mg per day, which is why I am asking....thanks in advance

Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Ivo Ditah's Response
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this urine incontinence. This is not recognized side effect of prednisolone. Maybe for some other reasons, you experienced this. Most of the times, it is just a transient occurrence with no pathological significance of risk of recurrence. I will recommend monitoring for now to see if this continues. If that be the case, seek for evaluation and treatment as this is not a possible side effect of prednisone.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarification if need be.
