Can Pregnancy Happen Despite Having Fibroids?

I am 47 years old. I had a myomectomy when I was 27. I was then able to have 2 beautiful children via caserean. I now have a 20cm fibroid and multiple others. I was hoping to have another myomectomy to preserve my uterus and to keep my childbearing option available for a few more years as I m with someone younger. I ve been told Bc of my age my chance of fertility is zero and the best option is s hysterectomy. What are your thoughts?

Hello,

It is true that your fertility quotient will be lesser compared to your earlier surgery. Moreover, with multiple fibroids of significant size, at your age, hysterectomy is the best way. Child bearing at this age is fraught with possible complications both for the mother and the baby. If you still wish to retain the uterus, please see a specialist for further details and plan proper management. It can be seen if myomectomy or embolization can be done.
