Can Pregnancy Happen Due To Unprotected Intercourse Despite Taking The ECP?
Hi. I had sex with my boyfriend this past Saturday night at around midnight. After, we discovered that the condom had broken. I have been on birth control for over three years. I had missed taking the pill the day before this had happened. The next morning (Sunday) I took Plan B at around 10:30. I am supposed to be getting my period this coming Saturday. What are the chances of me being pregnant?

if u had only one episode of unprotected sex (saturday) followed by emergency contraception ( u took it within 24 hrs ) the chances of pregnancy r almost nil
there r chances of pregnancy if ecp was taken after the recommended time interval of within 72 hrs of unprotected sex.
it is preferable to take ecp as early as possible after unprotected sex as ecp effectiveness decreases with increasing time gap of taking ecp
ecp would also not be effective in those women who vomit within few hrs of taking ecp as vomiting will reduce the hormone level in blood
u should not panic as u took plan B within 24 hrs & no history of vomiting after taking ecp so the chances of pregnancy r almost nil
just wait for ur normal period
