Can Pressure, Slight Pain And Dried Blood After Cleaning Ears Be Serious?
I was cleaning my ears with a quip which I will no longer do, however, it must have gone too far in as I felt a sharp pain and noticed a small amount of dried blood the next morning. I have no pain and no further blood. I do feel a little bit of pressure when I yawn or travel up in elevation but the pain is only slight. Should I visit my family doctor?
Hi. You should visit your Family Doctor or preferably an ENT Surgeon - who can inspect the exact nature of injury, whether trauma only to the skin of the External Auditory canal or the ear drum ( Tympanic Membrane ) also. Particularly in a case with minimal trauma to the ear by q-tip, even the minor abrasion can cause a severe problem as the skin in this region is firmly adherent to the underlying bone. The trauma to the ear drum heals within 3 weeks.
