Can Primolut Injections And Duphaston Cause Improper Brain Development In Fetus?
Hi,I was 12 weeks pregnant and had to abort the baby bcoz of improper brain development.i was taking primolut injections and duphaston tabs since 6 weeks of pregnancy.Could u please tell me what might be the cause of this defect and what should I do to avoid this in next pregnancy

Hi,
Primolut-N or Duphaston are progesterone preparations. .It is given in early pregnancy to supplement low levels of hormone in pregnancy and thus prevent abortion. But there are few chances of birth defects in fetus. The drug is advised to a patient for good effects but side effects may be evident sometimes.
