Can Probiotics Cause Stomach Pain, vomiting , Diarhoea In 8 Year Old?

can probiotics cause my 8 year old to have stomach pain, vomit and have diarreaha? He was scoped 2 mths ago w/ a biopsy for vomitting on and off for a year and everything looked good- no ulcers,no allergies of the stomach, etc. All of his bloodwork was good. They recommended Zantac twice daily and probiotics. We went about 4 weeks with no vomitting and now it has begun again accompanied with stomach pain and diarreaha so bad that he can not make it to the bathroom. He is also not wanting to eat. The only change is the brand of probiotic. Any advise would be great.

HI...By what you quote I feel that your kid has got irritable bowel syndrome and you need not use probiotics for this. But the above symptoms cannot be due to probiotic usage. But usually probiotics need to be used only during diarrhea that too prolonged or after usage of antibiotics.

I suggest you stop probiotics.
