Hello. Thanks for asking on Healthcaremagic. Progesterone or beta hcg injection or tablets are frequently given in early pregnancy to correct the luteal phase defect wherein the body's progesterone is not Sufficient enough to nurture an early pregnancy. The greatest risk of miscarriage is within the first trimester and steadily decreases thereafter. The maximum spontaneous abortions occur even before the lady who has conceived actually comes to know of her pregnancy. It is coincident with the time of her periods and she hence is unaware that she had conceived. So it is of utmost importance to take these progesterone injections at this time. Actually this is the time you need them most. After three months you will have a sturdy placenta who will secrete beta hcg and progesterone. So you might not need after three months. So my advice is to take it to increase your chances of pregnancy. Hope I helped you out. Good luck.
