Can Prolonged Menstruation Be Result Of Ortho Evra Birth Control?

I am on the ortha Vera birth control patch and I started my menstrual cycle 7 days early and I have been on it for 9 days and still counting.. Normally it last 3to5 days, should I be concerned? Also starting to pass small blood clots and I'm crampy... Thanks Brandy

Hi,

Initially, sometimes there may be prolonged periods. It will settle down slowly and will get back to your routine after sometime. If there is excessive bleeding, kindly consult your gynecologist. If you cant bare the cramps consult a nearby gynecologist for pain killers. There is no need to worry.
