hello george, first of all since you referred the dog as your own i suppose that its your pet dog and not some stray, its very important that you know whether your dog is properly vaccinated or not. even if it is vaccinated observe your dog for 10 days for any abnormal behavior, if it remains healthy then you need not worry about rabies, also dont forget to properly wash the wound with soap and water, apply antibiotic ointment, and get tetanus prophylaxis. if you are still in doubt then there are some "serum neutralizing antibody test" to help determine you need a booster dose or not.
take care n stay safe
