Can Recurring Blood In Stool After Cannabis Use Be Suggestive Of An Allergy Or An Underlying Issue?

I smoked Marijuana daily several times a day for decades and had no issues. I recently quit smoking cannabis for several months. I then began smoking it again and again daily several times a day. After a few days I noticed blood in my stool. After a month of this I quit smoking cannabis again and noticed that the blood in my stool was gone after 2-3 days of not smoking. Using myself as a testbed, after one month sober again I smoked for two days in a row. On the third day I noticed the blood in my stool returned. I quit again and within 2 days the blood in my stool was gone. After a couple weeks now I have checked every bowel movement and found no blood. What the heck is wrong with me? Am I allergic to cannabis or something?

Hello,

Smoking weed affects health in various aspects. Gradually quit smoking weed. Get connected with a detox center. Your gastrointestinal system is sensitive to weed. Weed often causes slow movement of the bowel, decreased gut motility that in turn may cause constipation, indigestion, tenesmus, or blood in stool.

Smoking weed also makes you lose weight, affects your general health condition, may cause abdominal pain, indigestion, diarrhea, etc. Get clinically examined by a GP, get blood tests, stool test (R/E and C/S) done, get per rectal examination done to rule out or detect fistulas, hemorrhoids, etc. Your treatment will depend on the diagnosis made.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
