Can Reduction Of Alchohol Intake Result In Repair Of Harmed Liver?

Gamma gt is 200. I am 60yr old female who did drink about 4 bottles of wine a week for many years. I now drink half a bottle each week and a bit more at the occasional social event. If I stopped drinking for 3 months would liver completely repair? enabling me to have a healthy liver and drink occasionaly. Don't ask me to to stop drrinking for ever.

Hello
Fortunately the liver has a great capacity to regenerate itself so if you abstained from any alcohol for three months, I think your GGT will be back in the normal range. From that point, moderate drinking--say two or three glasses of wine per week--would likely not harm your liver
