HI , Im a female of 44 yrs 157 lbs 5.2 ,I have a abs eosinophils of 1782cell/ul and immunoglobulin E 850 I have a history of sarcoid too, Im takeing prednison atarax and plaquenil is there any other treatment ? could be sarcoid causing the problem?
hello thank you for posting here sarcoid doesnt cause raised absolute eosinophils or high IgE. these two parameters maybe raised in allergic conditions or parasitic infections. they are usually high in patients with allergic asthma. since you are on atarax i guess you have some allergies. other causes of high eosinophils are parasitic infections in the stomach or lungs. you can do a stool routine test to rule out parasitic stomach infections. a sputum eosinophilic count can also be of help. if allergies are an issue then a skin prick allergy test can be done which involves chcking your sensitivity to 20 or 40 common allergens. another possibility depending if you are from an endemic area is filariasis. in the meantime continue taking above medications.
