Can Sciatica Pain Be A Result Of A Colonoscopy, Or Is It Just A Coincidence?

My wife had a colonoscopy and the results were perfect. However, the next day she had pain in her buttocks down her right leg to her foot. It was confirmed by a surgeon that it was sciatica. The doctor s staff who performed the colonoscopy said it was a coincidence that that the pain started the day after the procedure. Can something like this be a result of a colonoscopy?
