Can Severe Pain In The Joints Be A Symptom Of An Illness Other Than Osteoarthritis?

I HAVE ARTHRITIS IN MY LEFT HIP, BUT AM ALSO EXPERIENCING PAIN IN MY RIGHT HIP AND BOTH KNEES. OCCASIONALLY MY SHOULDERS BOTH HURT AND MY ANKLE, SO JUST ABOUT EVERY JOINT IS CAUSING ME PAIN. MY FINGERS DEFINITELY SHOW SIGNS OF OSTEOARTHRITIS AND I HAVE HAD AN XRAY OF MY LEFT HIP. I AM 66, HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY ACTIVE, AM NOT OVERWEIGHT, EAT A HEALTHY DIET. I GARDEN OUTSIDE AND OF COURSE WHEN I DO THIS OR DO YOGA MY JOINTS ARE VERY PAINFUL. I WONDER IF THIS IS MORE THAN ORDINARY OSTEOARTHRITIS?

Hi,

In my opinion you can get an X-ray but a rib bruising will take 3 to 4 weeks to heal. Analgesics can be taken for this period.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Fahim Sheik,
